She began her education with Smt. K. J. Sarasa and studied with her for a period of ten years. Subsequently, she began her studies with Bhagavatulu Sri. B. Seetharama Sharma of Kalakshetra.After that, she made her debut in the film Alaipayuthey, directed by Maniratnam, starring with Shalini.
