In the year 2001, Sunitha Varma made her debut in the leading role of the Telugu film Neevente Nuventa. The film was her first project in the acting industry. It was the year 2005 that she first appeared on screen in the Tamil film Oru Murai Solli Vidu; however, the film was not a commercial success. In addition to that, she appeared in the Tamil film “6’2” alongside Sathyaraj and Iruvar Mattum. Her first film in Malayalam was named Crazy Gopalan, which she starred in with Dileep and was released in the year 2008.
