Sujatha Mohan rose to prominence in the decade of the seventies under the stage name Baby Sujatha, when she was still in her school days. Baby Sujatha was known for singing backup for K. J. Yesudas in his stage presentations all over the world. The first song that she ever recorded was called “Kannezhuthy Pottuthottu,” and she did so while she was in the sixth grade. The song was written by M. K. Arjunan in 1975 for the Malayalam film “Tourist Bungalow,” and it was the first song that she ever recorded. After that, she pursued a career in the Malayalam cinema business.In the year 1977, Sujatha Mohan made her first appearance in the Tamil song Kaadhal Oviyam Kandein for the movie Kavikuyil; however, the song was not included in the final cut of the film.
