Smita’s potential as a singer was discovered in the talent show Padutha Theeyaga, which was hosted by S. P. Balasubrahmanyam and shown on the Telugu television station ETV in the year 1997. Padutha Theeyaga airs on ETV and is broadcast in Telugu. Following the conclusion of this performance, she pursued playback possibilities and eventually was given the chance to sing some playback songs. Her parents encouraged her to pursue a career in pop music after recognising both her skill and the unique manner of her singing; as a direct result of this advice, she is now known as Hai Rabba.

Her debut album, titled Hai Rabba, was released in the year 2000, marking the beginning of her career as a pop musician. After the success of this album, she went on to make other albums, this time in both Tamil and Telugu. In fact, some of her club mix tracks, most notably Masaka Masaka, have sold more than a million copies. She has performed almost seventy-five playback songs in the Telugu language over the course of seven years, and during that time she has collaborated with the majority of the most prominent music composers in the southern region. Her song “Evaraina Chusuntara,” which was included in the film “Anukokunda oka roju” and was created by “M.M.Keeravani,” was responsible for earning her the Filmfare Award for “Best playback singer in Telugu films” in the year 2005.

She was responsible for establishing the pop music industry in both Andhra Pradesh and Tamil Nadu, where she has remained active for the better part of a decade.She has just recently released an album called SMITA, which consists of nine tracks. The music for the album was composed by the successful partnership known as Sajid Wajid, and Bosco-Caesar is the choreographer for this video. Sony BMG, a prominent music label, was the one responsible for releasing the song in both Hindi and Tamil.
