Saranya Ponvannan is a well-known Indian actress who mostly appears in films that are produced in the Tamil, Malayalam, and Telugu languages. In addition, she has appeared in a few of films in the Kannada language. In the film directed by Mani Ratnam and titled Nayagan, main actress Saranya Ponvannan made her first appearance. During the latter half of the 1980s and the early 1990s, she was cast in starring parts.

In the Tamil film Nayagan, in which she played the main role opposite Kamal Hasan, she made her acting debut for the first time. She first appeared on screen in the film Neerajanam, which was released in the year 1988. The following year, in 1989, she made her debut in the film Artham, which was produced in the language of Malayalam. Appaji, which she performed in near the conclusion of her career in 1996, was the film in which she made her first appearance in Kannada.1995 was the year that she tied the knot with Ponvannan, an actor and director. After she got married, she turned down all of the movie opportunities that came her way.

In the year 2000, she said yes to an invitation to star in a television series called Veettukku Veedu Lootty. The next year, in 2003, she returned to the major motion picture industry in the role of a supporting character. In the movie “Alai,” she played the role of Simbhu’s mother. The films Raam, Thavamai Thavamirundhu, and Em Magan, all of which were released in the middle of the 2000s, are three of her most prominent supporting role films.Saranya Ponvannan was the only actress working in the South Indian Film Industry in 2014 who was paid more for portraying mother roles than she was for other parts. She has played the role of a mother for virtually all of the most prominent actors working in the Tamil film industry. The happy union of Saranya and Ponvannan has resulted in the birth of two daughters.
