At the age of five, she embarked on a journey to educate herself in Carnatic music. She is also a graphic designer and a visualizer in addition to being a singer. She is one of the people that started the design studio known as Utopik. Rita began her career as a musician by working with Imman, who was the music director. Since then, she has recorded more than 300 songs in the major languages of South India.

She became well-known for her performances of songs such as “Vada Mapillai” from the film “Villu” and “Alegra song” from the film “Kandasamy.” She was given the Mirchi prize for the song Vada Mapillai. She has sang for some of the most prominent music directors working in the Tamil film industry. In addition to her work as a playback vocalist, Rita has also performed as a performer on a variety of stages outside of the United States.
