Indian athlete Rahi Sarnobat is a part of the competition team for the 25-meter pistol shooting event. She is the first Indian female shooter in the history of the Asian Games to ever win the gold medal. At the Commonwealth Youth Games held in Pune, India in 2008, Rahi Sarnobat won the first gold medal of her career. She competed in the women’s 25-meter pistol event at the 2018 Jakarta Palembang Games and took home the gold. The first of her two gold medals came in 2010 at the Commonwealth Games in New Delhi, when she competed alongside Anisa Sayyed in the 25-meter pistol event. Together, they won the event. Rahi became the first Indian shooter to qualify for the Olympic competition in the 25-meter sports pistol event after he won the bronze medal at the World Cup in 2011 and then went on to get selected for the London Olympics in 2012. The London Olympics took place in 2012. In May of 2015, the National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) presented Rahi with a recommendation for the country’s most prestigious award, the Arjuna Award.

The Shiva Chattrapati Sports Complex in Pune is where she receives her coaching from Munkhbayar Dorjsuren. Tejaswini Sawant, a fellow Maharashtrian who won the world championship in the 50-meter rifle prone event, serves as an inspiration for her. She is the first Indian pistol shooter to ever win a gold medal at a global championship event. At the ISSF World cup in Changwon, she competed in the 25-meter pistol event and came out on top. At the Commonwealth Games that were held in Glasgow in 2014, she won the women’s 25-meter pistol event, which earned her the gold medal. At the 2014 Asian Games held in Incheon, Rahi Sarnobat, together with Anisa Sayyed and Heena Sidhu, competed in the 25-meter pistol team event. They were awarded the bronze medal for their performance.
