Her first role was in the Tamil television show Marmadesam, which ran on Sun TV from 1995 through 1998. She made her acting debut in that role. The majority of the parts she played in films were supporting or comedic ones, and she did so predominantly. Her first film, Parthiban Kanavu, was released the same year, in 2003.
She was honoured with the Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Comedian for her work in the film. Her most recent films include Tuck Jagadish and Annabelle Sethupathi, and she also had an appearance in the online series The Family Man, which was produced by Amazon Originals. She is now participating as a judge in the Mr. and Mrs. Chinnathirai television show that is shown on Vijay TV.
