She made her acting debut in the 2006 film Kilukkam Kilukilukkam, which was directed by Sandhya Mohan and marked the beginning of her career in the industry. In recognition of her work in her first film, she was given the Sathyan Memorial Award for Best Child Artist in 2006. She made her first appearance in a Tamil film called Kuselan in the year 2008, starring with Rajinikanth and Nayanthara.
She also appeared in the Kathanayakudu film adaptation that was performed in Telugu. She was nominated for several accolades as a child performer for her work in films such as Kilukkam Kilukilukkam, Swarnam, and Loudspeaker. She won several of these honours. Nayanthara Chakravarthy began her acting career when she was a youngster and has since starred in more than 30 films.
